Let’s say you go with a variable rate of 1.5% amortized over 30 years and you will be paying approximately $2,263.95 a month for the new mortgage amount. If you are only looking at the cost of that incremental $126,000 that you will be using as a home renovation loan, the monthly cost on that would be $434.84 per month. This can free up your current cash for other purposes.
